UU ENG 106 -- Sp 2017 Ms Johnson: Finding Encyclopedia Articles

Finding Subject Encyclopedias

Subject encyclopedias help you find an overview of a particular topic.  They can be useful to help you decide how to narrow or focus a topic.  They will help you identify important dates, people, theories, models or laws relevant to the topic you are researching.

You can search the Urbana University Library Catalog for your subject and then look for the subheading Encyclopedias.

We also have many e-book encyclopedias that may be helpful.

Electronic Books

Electronic books can be read from your device or computer.  Some chapters can be downloaded as pdfs.  Some sections can be printed.  The publishers of the books decide what and how much information from each book can be used through our e-book services.
